Our Experience
Schools and local authorities choose Nurture Nova because we don’t just say the right things — we follow through. Our approach is grounded in over a decade of specialist leadership in exclusion prevention and alternative provision, and shaped by real, sustained outcomes for pupils who were previously disengaged and at significant risk of permanent exclusion. Everything we do is rooted in trauma informed practice, not promises.
Proven Integration Expertise —
backed by 13+ years leadership
Many providers talk about reintegration; we’ve built our entire career on it. With extensive experience leading citywide exclusion‑prevention services, managing PRU sites, and supporting permanently excluded pupils, we understand the reintegration process inside out. Our model is shaped by years of successfully returning pupils to mainstream settings by designing, leading, and improving environments for pupils who struggled to access mainstream.
Trauma‑Informed Practice —
lived expertise, not a buzzword
“Trauma‑informed” is often used loosely. For us, it’s the foundation of our work. Our practice is informed by years of supporting pupils with complex SEMH needs, EBSA, and significant behavioural challenges. We have deep experience interpreting behaviour as communication, building relational safety, and supporting emotional regulation. This isn’t a label — it’s a skillset developed through thousands of hours of frontline work with vulnerable learners.
Time-Limited & Purposeful - reintegration built in from day 1
Some APs offer open‑ended placements that drift. Ours never do. Our model is intentionally time‑limited, structured, and focused on stabilisation, confidence‑building, and readiness to return. Reintegration goals are embedded from the start, with clear planning, regular reviews, and transparent communication. Schools know exactly what progress looks like and what the pathway back to mainstream will be.
Enduring, Solid Partnerships — anchored in deep, local experience
We understand the pressures schools and councils face because we’ve worked within those systems at a senior level. Our background includes coordinating citywide AP operations, leading multi‑agency meetings, and supporting complex cases requiring joint planning. This means our communication is proactive, our reporting is clear, and our collaboration is purposeful. Schools don’t have to chase us — we’re already there.
Our Impact
At Nurture Nova, impact isn’t an add‑on — it’s the core of our work.
